ready for fall

Oh you guys! I am so ready for fall! Here in Oklahoma, the seasons are starting to change and it’s already getting cooler. While I’m typically a spring/summer kind of person when it comes to my favorite clothes, I find myself really excited about cold weather, layering basics, and boots. I’m also looking to get more mileage out of some of my dresses by layering with black leggings. My husband is SO rolling his eyes right now, I know it — but I’m giving in and trying something new (for me).
What will I invest in for fall? A long Splendid cardigan to wear over long tank tops and v-neck tees. And thanks to my mom, I’m also going to be rocking that super cute jacket in the upper right corner. I cannot wait to pull it out for the first time — it is FAB!
What are your feelings on sweaters? Ever since I was little, I’ve been a total stove. It’s like my internal thermostat is set to hot hot hot year round. This was only exacerbated by pregnancy and it’s like I can’t quite get past it now. I’m just plain hot all the time. As a result, I typically only wear cotton. Cashmere, wool, etc — it’s out for me. I can’t stand to be hot in my clothes, so I stick to uber-breathable cotton.
All right, chickadees — there’s my manifesto for fall. Comfy, layered, chic. What are you going to invest in this fall?

Oh man, it is almost difficult for me to read this blog as I grow as big as a house. Honestly, I think I am just planning on limping along until I can buy normal clothes. Is that so bad?? I hate investing in anything for maternity!

I hear ya – “investing” is a term hardly ever used when it comes to maternity, that’s for sure! I wanted to burn all my maternity clothes when I was done! You look fantastic, though — you were teeny tiny with Evelynn and you’re the same with Lyla!
